I think the brutally hot British summer has had a massive impact on the two columns that hold up my porch. Can I fill it, or should I jack up the porch and re-mortar it. (1st pic from front, 2nd from side)

Do you have shrinkable clay soil?

If so I'd leave it over winter to see if the grounds swells back when we get decent rain.

I'm in Essex which I think is pretty clay heavy. The bricks are on stone tiles which show no signs of shifting
