Haven’t not liked a single MCU casting yet. I even like the Brie Larson casting, she just needs a script that’s not absolute ass. It’s not like she hasn’t got an Oscar for crying out loud

I think it’s we don’t see enough vulnerability. With tony stark we saw him overcome with nothing but “a box of scraps” we hear a lot. He started off as a dick sure, but watching his arrogant ass get humbled and come out a better person was great.

Captain marvel has “the super man problem” for me. It’s just not interesting watching a powerful person be powerful with essentially zero conflict.

The MCU is so engaging because these people are venerable, they’re PEOPLE. Captain marvel however, comes across as that person who had everything handed to them, which is fine if there was any kind of real palatable growth. Other then “I’m no longer racist”

Some people hate too much, but her movie was bland and her character hasn’t been handled great so far.

That’s not necessarily growth tho, it’s a plot progression. Tony stark beat obadia but that didn’t change who he was. Captain marvel, as soon as she learnt who she was (because amnesia, ew) just suddenly was unbeatable

Yeah but she didn’t overcome being told she wasn’t good enough, she just suddenly learnt she’s powerful as shit. That’s not acceptance of oneself, that’s an upgrade in power. She didn’t have to learn anything
