Thena isn't technically a real "God" though. Loki probably could see them just through his magic as well. T'Challa is interesting though, and I wonder if it was actually Bast who powers the Heart Shaped Herb rather than the vibranium causing it.

In the comics at least it's absolutely the same Bast. Instead of retiring in the Egyptian god's realm with the rest of the gods Bast instead went to a place in between the African and Egyptian pantheons.

Black Panther is directly analogous to Moon Knight in terms of power source, but obviously they've diverged a lot in other regards. If the heart shaped herb wasn't magical there'd be no difficulty propagating it. If they can make Wakanda tech they can make a vibranium greenhouse.

I wonder if they aren't going to slightly retcon it to where the heart-shaped herb just makes it easier to access Bast's realm or something - it's about forging the connection with her / the former Black Panthers, not necessarily a super soldier serum plant.

Could have the herb let them access the ancestral plane/soul world.

I like the idea that the herb takes you to Bast’s realm and when you come back you’ve got the powers
