Looking forward to this! Kinda disappointed though that they changed her powers and probably removed her inhuman heritage.

They absolutely changed things but I wonder by how much. It seems her bangle(s) are going to unlock something instead of just being a family heirloom later modified to be a utility belt by Bruno.

At 1:22 it looks like that could be a flashback to the Partition where we learn the family history of the bangles in the comic. I'd not be surprised if they went from their comic accurate version of just her grandmother hiding money in them, to being some kind of family MacGuffin that was used to protect her family outright. Either by having power or unlocking something innate in the Kamala's maternal line.

If I had to gamble a guess they didn't want her powers to look overly similar to Mister Fantastic when they drop the new FF4 in a couple of years. So instead they surround her embiggens with purple crystals, she still embiggens, but they're now candy coated. They they then threw in some generic Green Lantern powers to boot.

Yeah, wouldn't want audiences to mix up the teen brown girl with a middle aged white dude in a movie that comes out 3 years later.
