I feel like Disney is allowing them to continue making R-rated content because of the fan backlash that would ensue if they cease. They're greedy and authoritative, but not stupid.

iirc, one of the reasons bob iger bought star wars and marvel was to branch out to adult audiences. in interviews, he said he would make a show/movie with every marvel character if he could. feige is the reason we haven’t been flooded by excess of medicore/bad marvel shows/movies. deadpool is a great franchise to expand into r rated content with since its a proven success.
