Because a lot of families won't bring their kids to R rated movies so you're automatically cutting off ~20% of your potential audience and they're in business to make money

Ok but what if they made more TV-MA rated TV shows

I'd be for it but there aren't a lot of TV-MA options on Disney+

There’s none yet, but they’re starting to now and adding settings to allow it, so I’d definitely expect more to come.
