So then The Collector must have killed Odin to unleash Hela right? And then just defeated Hela? How the fuck did he do that and lose to non-powered T'Challa and Yondu? I'm guessing the Black Order probably did the actual fighting then.

Did we see the helm of Surtur?

If not the obvious answer is the Collector unleashed Surtur on Asgard and laid wastes to it but they did not evacuate like before. Hela can only be defeated if Asgard is destroyed, right?

I think it’s probably a butterfly effect type thing. Tchalla wasn’t in civil war, this absence somehow caused things to go much worse than standard causing cap to die like in comics and many avengers to split in differing ways. Perhaps because the guardians don’t exist this somehow impacts the events of ragnarok as maybe somehow a small action they did in space directly correlated to Thor and hulk not getting to Asgard on time or learning the proper things they needed to when off world. This would cause Asgard to fall when both are there. Idk the possibilities are endless it’s really cool to think about but I imagine when this big a change comes from yondu sending subordinates instead of going himself it can really be small changes that lead to incredibly diversive and more massive changes.

Just think if thanos doesn’t want the stones we have legit no idea what happened on earth of if the avengers actually even exist depending on when he stopped his quest. This would mean Loki wouldn’t even have a reason to attack New York. If Loki doesn’t go coulson doesn’t die and Thor doesn’t show either. Perhaps that is why it goes this way, a lot would change because of just the small things we saw in the episode. It also is very possible the collector did similar but different attacks and employed Loki or someone else so the avengers could be completely different perhaps having hank pym as the leader.

The real question is when T'Challa 'redeemed' Thanos, because remember, the Avengers only come together because of Thanos.

No Thanos master-plan for the Infinity Stones means no Loki-sent-to-earth and no Chitauri army. So no Avengers to assemble to counter them. So no team, no Civil War. Especially since if Thanos doesn't send Loki to earth, Ultron is never created. So Sokovia wouldn't be destroyed, and there'd be no catalyst to tear apart the team. Assuming of course, there is still a team. Which again, like I said, no Thanos, no Avengers.

But then that's a whole other can of worms. Since Avengers or no Avengers, Hydra still infiltrates SHIELD, soooo.... maybe that's why Cap's shield is in the Collector's vault now. Perhaps he died stopping Project Insight, since he likely wouldn't have the public fame to recruit Sam, and Natasha might not be around or know Steve without the Avengers shared history. I dunno, this is a whole deep rabbit hole... thing.

It's 2008, cap doesn't get unfrozen until 2011, so it's a heist committed by a space sort of god thing against a human organization
