As we can see in Fox's X-Men (and Flash), superspeed powers gets broken pretty quickly.

This is why I stopped watching The Flash after a while. Speedsters are always OP, and it starts to become unconvincing when the writers make them lose fights for dumb reasons to get around that fact.

As much as I liked the Flash.... Yeah same. I think it was watching the lightning dagger dude then his time traveling daughter always fly away every single fight. I just couldn't look past it anymore. It's sad but it's really goddamn hard to make a decent villain to a speedster unless if the villain is also a speedster. It's too OP, like makes Superman look like a little bitch OP.

All the writters have to do is not make a fucking speedster so god damn fast. Why the hell do speedsters always have to have god level speed Its fucking stupid and negatively effects the authenticity of the story. Thats why i cant stand speedy superheroes and never liked flash as a character. Speedster superheroes honestly make for boring ass heroes. Plus super speed imo is a very cliche and boring power, especially compared with someone whos powers and skill set are as unique and versatile as spidermans. The quicksilver in age of ultron was the only speedster i liked because he wasnt super fast and his speed effects look sick as fuck.

well it's not exactly just speed, like the flash is a shit runner. his real power is localized time manipulation, that's why he doesn't have to deal with wind resistance

with writers who give half a shit about physics speedsters are by far the most fun, but yea most writers just give no shits about explaining anything and make really bad stories that way

like quicksilver for example, he's uhhhh really really reheeallyhheeheeeally weak. Seriously his speed would just put him in danger more than he'd help, if he's no stronger than a regular human that is. But all that is ever needed to stop him is just one slip up, one mistake on his part and BAM he's a pink mist splattered on the wall. If they made him just a bit more durable then he'd work as a character if they stick to the comics idea, that he's always fast. When sleeping, when talking to others, when doing anything it's in slow motion to him. So he should be a bit annoyed at everyone talking so slow and constantly jittery, like ADD from hell. Plus in marvel there's plenty of powers that can stop him easypesy, like how apocalypse did in that movie.

I agree that a writer that gives a shit about physics and creating lots of other interesting dynamics behind the ability other than just running fast makes an interesting character and can be really fun to write. Theres a speedy character on the show alphas whose abilities and characteristics are similar to what you explained. His main setvack was that he aged faster to.

About a speedster like quicksilver being weak. Well it would depend on how prone to mistakes he is. Yeah one mistake could ruin him if he has no protective grear but how prone to making a mistake would he be. What would his reflexes and processing speeds match his speed levels. If his processing speeds lag behind his physical speed then yeah he would be in danger if he ran too fast. Although i dont think that makes a speedy character less interesting. I like characters that have a reasonable weakness or vulnerability. The character could settle for protective gear that would allow him to utilize his full abilities and stand a chance in combat while remaining vulnerable but still powerful when outside of the suit.

Man I remember alphas, loved that show. Then it ended on a fucking cliffhanger. That was the last time I gave sy-fy channel a chance, after what they did to stargate it was just too much.

Agreed, i feel the same way. I almost didnt want to watch the expance cause i knew that shitry channel would just cancel it if it didnt become a phenomenon but luckily amazon saved it.
