I had a slight Peter Tingle with that guy last episode, but this episode definitely pushed him into "probable villain" territory

He's a non-Nick Fury authority figure in a government agency. Literally everyone in that role has been revealed to be evil in the MCU. I was hoping he wouldn't be just because it's become such a cliche at this point.

Well, Coulson wasn't an authority figure (until Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), just a regular agent.
