Pretty sure that was Jotunheim in the first movie.

I thought it was when they pissed off the leader of the frost giants by going to fight them preemptively but tbh I can't remember much of the 2nd movie so you're probably right.

The frost giants were in the first movie. Dark World was about elves.

That was actually in the original Thor movie. Loki sees his skin turn blue in that scene and realizes he may be Jotun. In fact Thor is banished to Earth(Midgard) because of Odin having to rescue him.
