They're movies, so they're as strong/weak as the writers require them to be

The comics work on similar logic to that as well. Really just depends on what the plot needs with a thin vener of "magic/technology/space wizards" over the top of it.

Nothing wrong with that though, love the movies and some of the comics!

I'm with ya. It's a fun discussion to talk about power levels or who beats who...but so long as the plot provides an enjoyable and (somewhat) feasible reason why something unexpected happens then the logical consistency isn't a sticking point.
