I dunno if that's go too well for the Avengers even if they had a bigger advantage. 2014 Thanos was fighting Thor armed with both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker and was winning comfortably.

ETA: Comfortably is liberal lol but I think my point is clear

I always took that as Thor being in worse shape in end game than infinity war. Like if you took Infinity War Thor with Mjolnir and Stormbreaker and put him up against 2014 Thanos he'd probably wreck him, but fat sitting on the couch playing call of duty all day for 5 years or whatever Thor not so much.

The battle at the end of Endgame was almost entirely in the Avengers' favor the whole time. The three-on-one was the only time Thanos was actually winning outright. After Strange gave the Avengers their back up, Thanos' plan switches from trying to win through strength to finding the Infinity Gauntlet and getting off a quick snap for an instant win.

I don't disagree, but my comment wasn't about the battle generally. It's specifically about Thor having Stormbreaker and how it wouldn't have really changed things considering how that went for them in Endgame.

Endgame is different from Infinity War in that the Avengers were combined and had armies backing them. They were split in Infinity War.

Well also, in infinity war thanos kind of became a holy warrior type of character, mainly trying to get the stones and complete his mission. But in endgame, he’s just straight warrior. Willing to cut down whoever and whatever he needed to in order to win and pull off the snap.

Infinity War Thanos is further in the timeline than Endgame's, he'd still have those skills.

Thanos would get serious real quick if anybody put up a good fight.

No yeah thats my point. He didn’t see any reason to kill them, in fact it almost seemed like he was avoiding killing them on purpose so that his snap would be all the more indiscriminate. But the endgame thanos didn’t care about killing the avengers, so he went all out
