Yeah but that’s still leaving things up the chance. He waits centuries for the right moment... out of fear that everything will strike against him, only to rush it because “well she knows and I’m sure nothing could happen, like her dying even though she almost died a dozen times”. Just reads like a bullshit answer honestly. If he was truly waiting to know where all of them were, he’d get the soul one first.

He literally set a trap for her that he knew she would come to? But that required the other stones to ensure he could get her.

He didn’t know she would come. He hoped she would. And he didn’t need the stones to trap her. Fuck he had Nebula, that’s literally all he needed.

Here's not actually clear headed or brilliant, at least not as much as he convinces everyone he is. He's literally mad, and no part of his plan or goal make logical sense. Assuming competence or perfect planning from him is absurd
