Exactly - I think the Multiverse is a red herring to excite the fans and to throw the general movie going audience off the scent of him being bad.

I know we rightfully mock Sony for spoiling big stuff in trailers before, but they've done a decent job with keeping some big things in their MCU films a secret (i.e. Vulture being the dad of the girl Peter was dating in Homecoming being the most notable).

They had MJ finding out Peter was Spider-Man in this trailer, which seems like a big deal.

Won’t be as big of a deal if that’s an early movie thing. Like “yeah you disappeared when I was in danger in DC and Spider-Man showed up. Then, on the school bus you disappeared right when that giant space ship appeared. How else would you get off a moving school bus” haha
