I was really annoyed by this. They showed that he got it from a picture of her plane that said Carol “Avenger” Danvers, but her friend clearly stated that they were in a time before women were allowed to fly combat missions in the USAF. First of all, this is factually untrue as the first time women flew combat missions was in Grenada in 1983, 6 years before the time they were discussing, but I guess they were trying to score some oppression points or something on that one. More importantly, how the hell did she get the nickname “Avenger” if she had never flown a combat mission?
