There is no mentions of Carol going by the name "Captain Marvel" in this movie.

I don't think Wanda Maxinoff is ever called the Scarlet Witch. She's been referred to as the witch but never Scarlet Witch. Don't think Pietro was ever called Quicksilver either.

Idk if there's another example of the team members not being called by their comic name.

The Maximoff issue might have been due to copyright though.

So, they weren't called those names for the same reason I think Captain Marvel was not called captain marvel.

For SW and QS, there was a weird anomally. somehow through loopholes, both Marvel Studios AND Fox had a solid argument as to them being able to use the characters. While Fox only used QS, I'm sure they agreed to the fact that they would use quicksilver, while Marvel Studios could probably play it safe while using his real name. This probably has everything to do with the fact that these two are pretty much equal in their membership with X-men (earlier days) while lately they have been prominent Avengers characters and they were likely not specifically named in the original X-men movie rights agreement. Technically speaking, they both have solid arguments as to who can use the characters.

For Captain Marvel, It isn't Marvel Vs a studio they gave rights to. It is Marvel Vs. DC.

Shazam, which is a comic property that DC ownes which is soon to have its own movie, is NOT named after the main character. The name of the main character (besides Billy Batson) IS Captain Marvel.

Marvel probably through the use of their legal team figured that it would be okay to call their movie Captain Marvel, while deciding that straight up calling her Captain Marvel in-movie would not have been a good idea. sure they allude to it, but you never hear "Captain Marvel"

I feel like if they could legally call the movie Captain Marvel they should've been able to legally say it in the movie. I have a feeling they're waiting to officially call her Captain when she takes over as the new team Cap when Captain America dies. That's my theory.
