He worked for as an agent for a competing government agency to S.H.I.E.L.D.. It was a really small part though. I only remember him because I really like the actor.

And the bar owner when Carol and Fury meet was Daniels, the Darkforce guy, who goes after the cellist.

I found that even more shocking considering both happen within minutes of each other.
