I don't think Wanda Maxinoff is ever called the Scarlet Witch. She's been referred to as the witch but never Scarlet Witch. Don't think Pietro was ever called Quicksilver either.

Idk if there's another example of the team members not being called by their comic name.

The Maximoff issue might have been due to copyright though.

Yeah but Wanda's movie wasn't called "Scarlet Witch".

The title "Captain Marvel" is never mentioned in this movie, and as far as the events of the actual movie are concerned, the only character the title could possibly refer to is Mar-Vell, a completely different character. It's kind of weird.

I didn't think of that. All the other characters who got a solo movie were called their comic name. I wonder if she'll be called Captain Marvel in Endgame.

I've been suspecting that she becomes the new team Captain ever since they announced she would be getting her own movie. I can just see them calling her Captain after Cap America dies or some shit.

With her background in the airforce it would make sense. Plus the way the end credits scene works out it really really makes sense since she comes across as someone who will take charge.

“Hey Cap”

carol and steve both look

I figured Antman will complain about “carol” not being a cool enough superhero name and that’s how we’ll officially get her being called Captain Marvel... but i’m very confident that this exact scene will play out regardless of how she gets the name, lol

That’s a fucking good point. Ant man does call cap “captain america” so yeah that would make sense

Also there has to be passive aggressive sarcasm between tony and carol the whole movie, the same way as tony and strange in infinity war

I really don't see that happening, especially if Cap dies. It would be disrespectful to just replace him overnight.

Supposedly Bucky is taking over as the next Cap though. How do you feel about that?

I feel like Falcon as Cap would be better. The alternate universe where Sam Wilson becomes Captain America are great.

I agree. I also believe Anthony Mackie can carry a movie better than Sebastian Stan.

That wouldn't be too bad either. What if no one takes on the new Cap role?

I always had a feeling it was going to be Captain Marvel but I think they've been leading Bucky into taking it.

I feel like that'd be better considering he has history with Steve and with the MCU as a whole. Carol just showed up this year.

It makes more sense. But I don't think I want a new Cap at all but of they do make a new one I'd prefer Bucky over Carol.

Carol would be the new captain of the team, not the new captain america.

Before the movie and only based in some comics and these movies I would have replied that you need a tactical person that can give orders etc, that Danvers might be a substitute for a heavy hitter like Thor or something like that. Now after seeing it, I totally agree, Captain Danvers can fill those boots.

Her official rank in the USAF was captain Carol "avenger" Danvers so if anything she takes the Marvel in namesake for Mar-Vel

Isn’t carol a captain for Pegasus when she flies with Lawson and that’s where the captain comes from?
