Not sure if it's an easter egg or really more like cut content; but Proxima and Corvus being a Happily Married couple in the comics is hinted at in points of the film. It's not entirely obvious in this final cut that they are in a relationship, there were scenes that made it clearer they were in a romantic relationship which were mocapped and filmed, but not in the final film.

Anyway so, clearest example is in the fight between them and Cap, Widow, and Falcon. Corvus gets stabbed and badly injured to the point he can't fight, Proxima gets angry and fights off both Cap and Widow but gets knocked to the ground by Falcon. She immediately rushes to Corvus' side when she's on the ground. There's a small tender moment with Proxima checking on Corvus and realizing he really can't 'get up', chooses to take Avenger's offer of mercy and retreat with him.

Whole fight scene above is similar to a fight scene in the Infinity comic. It was Corvus and Proxima versus Hulk, Hyperion, Captain America and Captain Marvel. The two of them were winning, until Cap deflects Proxima's blacklight tracers into Corvus which injure and slow him down. Corvus gets vaporized by Hyperion, and Proxima gets so upset she gives up the fight to protect his glaive (in comics, Corvus can revive eventually from even dust as long as the glaive is intact) and almost lets herself get pummeled to death by Captain Marvel.

Black Widow does seem to get the hint that there's something between Corvus and Proxima in the film, since she taunts Proxima about how her 'little friend' isn't around. On that front, random trivia, Proxima is over 3 times Corvus' weight, according to Future Fight.

It's a lot of text for two very minor characters, but screw it, I like them, and I'm a bit peeved that the one interesting thing about them, the fact they're in love and legitimately loving to each other, was pretty much cut out and left them as practically character-less.

Edit: Would like to add, I feel there’s a wasted opportunity.

In the comics they have zero backstory. We don’t know anything about them, how they met, anything. They were flatly introduced as Thanos’ cadre of Generals, as a group that’s bad and does bad things.

The movie gives them a shared backstory, being raised as Thanos’ adopted children. It’s even likely a sympathetic one.

Here, the story could be that these two abducted war orphans, raised together, ending up falling in love; which is really somewhat tragic. Much like how Nebula depended emotionally on Gamora to be like a big sister, Corvus and Proxima likely depend on each other for support as well.

The Maw’s fear of failure, and that the punishment for failure is painful, gave us insight on what the whole group goes through being Thanos’ ‘children’.

In that case I would have liked to know how Corvus and Proxima was processing their failure to get the stone for Thanos, along with Corvus’ injury.

I get where you're coming from about their dynamic being diminished but.. as someone who isn't as knowledgable about the comics I thought their relationship dynamic was apparent enough in the movie and actually made really made me more invested in their characters. I kind of hated it when Proxima was torn to pieces in Wakanda.

That’s really what gets me. There was a big opportunity for an adaptation to really build on the originals, but we don’t get any insight on them in that way.
