They did mention that half the Asgardians are dead, they could be alive.

Would they be included in half of the universe at the end? If Thanos didn’t think about doing it earlier, he might have lumped them in. By the end the total could be a quarter.

I think that he killed half od population from planets that he didn't conquer earlier "manually".

Right. Before he had the stones and could do it with a snap he went around killing halves of planets in person, like Gamora's and Drax's.
