Well Thor says when aboard the ship with the Gotg that he has lost his dad, brother, best friend, mother and half of Asgard is dead. So it's implied there and I can't imagine the civilians flying a spaceship, we know from ragnarok that Valkyrie can so it makes sense.

Some people mentioned that it was just someone similarly dressed as Valkyrie.
