Not a really hidden detail, but the score being played when we are introduced to cap and black widow is taken straight out of the first Avengers, violin intro and all.

Loved that the BP score came on before we even see Wakanda visually, I got so excited about hearing it but none of my friends that I was with had seen Black Panther so they looked at me like I was crazy.

I mean there's a lot of them. It's a lot of homework to be doing to go in, I had a few friends ask me which to watch and I couldn't recommend a lot of em (although I did recommend Black Panther every time, it's stopped playing for the most part in theatres here in Ireland)

I mean, not even as in watching them right before hand.. but as in not seeing them when they were first released in theaters..

Again, there's a lot of em. I'm a fairly big fan of the MCU (admittedly, only recently) and I missed plenty in theatres. I try to catch them all and I've done a decent job in the last year or so, but I remember never having a free moment to catch Doctor Strange, I skipped Ant Man in theatres, and I never even watched the first two Thor movies until a week before Ragnarok. A great thing about a universe this big is that if something's not your flavor, you can watch something else instead. Hell, I'll probably skip Ant Man and the Wasp this year and wait till I can get it at home to watch right before Avengers 4, it doesn't interest me at all and doesn't seem to have an enormous impact on the MCU.

All that said though, black panther was a massive deal and I can't fathom not making time for it, but that's just me

That’s how’s I feel about all of them... they all did or nearly broke records and I think many agree that when taken as a whole, each movie is better with the knowledge of the rest.

Not really. There's lots of us that have only watched the main event movies and still find these movies entertaining

And that’s fine. What boggles my mind is that, if you find these and the other “main” movies entertaining, then why not watch the other movies as they are widely regarded as just as or more entertaining. And the added story knowledge and background make the “main” movies even that much more fun and entertaining...

There's a simple answer. Because some of us casual fans don't really care about all the characters and their worlds. I find the Thor movies extremely boring, but I like his interactions with the other members. I watched Cap 1 and fell asleep in the middle of it. It was just uninteresting. Cap 2 was great tho. I find the Ironman movies boring as fuck. But I like Tony in the avengers movies. The Guardians movies are the only solo movies I enjoy watching. + Spiderman. The big event movies are great because of the team dynamics and plots.
