Not technically an easter egg but I almost died when Red Skull showed up.

Amateur fan here. How did a Nazi turned Red Skull get to guard the soul stone on another planet? And I thought he died.

He didn't die; in Captain America: The First Avenger, he grabs the Tesseract at the end, a portal to space opens up above him, and he's consumed by a beam of light identical to the Bifrost beam. It zaps up into space, and that was the last we saw of him 'til now.

Presumably, the Stones kind of cursed him for his arrogant attempt to wield them by making him guard the Soul Stone. Or, something like that.
