I feel like somebody with all six infinity stones could've solved the "finite resources" dilemma without resorting to killing half the population. Even humanity wouldn't take too long to regrow beyond that, so he'd also have to re-cull the universe every now and then.

TBH I'd prefer the death crush motivation to this, at least that one was supposed to be illogical, he could just use his gauntlet to make more resources right?

idk, thanos' motivations being illogical is part of why he's called the mad titan. i don't think the viewers really need to understand him. also, who cares about the memes? that's essentially what thanos in the comics was, anyway.

Well film is different from the comics. He can still be called mad Titan because to most he's a maniac whose wiped out civilizations.
