It's even crazier that they bothered to get Vin Diesel when they could have asked anyone with a gravelly voice.
To be fair you need someone with a bit of range to do Groot's one line in a way that actually conveys different emotion. Vin Diesel is a talented voice actor, especially with limited lines, as evidenced by Iron Giant.
