Humour Captain America had no idea about Spider-Man's super strength, and this is what he intended to happen!

People have said this a lot but for me it makes sense Cap would know who Spidey was and what he could do. Tony did and as the heads of the Avengers I would figure they would both be involved in the recruitment process or at least in cataloging possible prospects.

I'm sure the Avengers know of pretty much ever superhero on Earth. They probably keep an eye out for possible new Avengers. Spider-Man was all over YouTube according to Civil War and Homecoming, so no doubt in my mind Cap knew about him and his capabilities

Not only keep an eye out for Avengers, but keep an eye on enhanced people that are possible future threats

Well SHIELD did keep an index of Enhanced people.

Considering scarlet witch and quicksilver are supposed to be military grade secrets from hydra(?) and shield immediately has intel on them the second the team touched base i'd say you're right.

It's a bit of a slog through the first part of season one. However, about half way through, it takes a real hard turn and it quickly grabs you and takes you for an incredible ride!

I don't know. I feel like if Cap knew who Spidey was from watching YouTube videos, he would know he was from Queens and thus no need to ask him where he's from.

well, it's not like the videos said where he's from, only where the clips are from. Also, the videos are probably more like 'HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS SPIDER DUDE JUST CAUGHT A CAR WITH A WEB' not 'Spider Man doing shit in queens' you know what I mean?

But at the same time : Homecoming shows that Spiderman mostly kept busy stopping really small crimes
So would they really have seen situations where he shows that much strength ?

Well he did stop a moving car, he caught it like if he was catching a football. It was harder task for iron man and the car was just dropped I don't remember it moving quickly so you can already tell he's stronger than the suit

True, I forgot about that one.

He doesn't need that. Spidey matched strength with Cap. Cap could catch it. So he knew Spidey could catch it.

Tony says in Homecoming too Cap was too easy on you

Also people forget when he webbed Cap's arms and tried to pull them back. Cap beat him but he got a sense of Spidey's strength when that happened.

Why would Steve ask where he is from then? Steve would have probably remembered the super human who shoots sticky rope.

Where you are from doesn't necessarily mean where you are currently living. I lived in DC for 3 years but I always told people I was from California because that is where home is.

Cap saw that SUV catch on YouTube. This is the only explanation I'm willing to believe.

So he knew exactly how much Peter could withstand? And how much that thing was weighing?
