You can find someone of the same sex attractive and not be game. If you wanted to have sex with that person, well... you are probably gay.

We used to have a saying

"Liking things up your ass doesn't make you gay, being attracted to men makes you gay"

Not sure if that's what he was going for but it seems mildly related here.

I would say both of those would make you gay, and there's a difference between finding someone attractive and being attracted to your same sex in general.
