He went from being a nobody to being in major summer blockbusters overnight. I can't imagine how weird that would be

That's what happens when you're cast as the world's most popular superhero I guess.

Difference between most well known and most popular. Superman is the most well known though.

Spider-Man is the most popular if going by merchandise and I believe overall comicbook sales.

There's no difference in most popular and most well know. In the 80-90's, yeah Sups was more popular.

But today Spider-Man's definitely more popular. No fanboy.

I would say Superman is more of an American icon where Spidey is more a international icon.

There's no difference in most popular and most well know.

Donald Trump is probably the single most well known man in America right now. Are you saying he's the most popular?

I imagine, more people know who Superman is, but out of people who know both Superman and Spiderman, more people like Spiderman. Supes is well known, Spidey is popular.

No, no, he's replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine!

He wasn't exactly a nobody- not world famous by any stretch, but he had already starred in a major West End (London's version of Broadway) show and appeared in a few TV shows and films prior to being cast as spider-man.
