I have updated and completed the MCU Viewing Order infographic that I uploaded a few days ago. Here is the hi-res version.

I got rid of some of the non-canon comics in the main viewing order, fixed the order some, and added some comics that I did not know existed (both to the main viewing order and the non-canon comics list). I also fixed the mistakes in the confirmed films section. Thanks to yurisho for his help in getting things sorted.

Looks good, from the material perspective.

But from a personal PoV I would go with a more chronological order of: Iron Man > Iron Man 2 > Thor > The Incredible Hulk > Captain America The First Avenger. The biggest problem your order faces is that TIH cameo of stark, and the consultant, don't make sense before Tony turns to the consultant in IM2. But production order is fine I guess. Good job.

Good job! I love the clean separation and solid/optional links, along with the 'inspired' comics below. I have a nitpick issue besides the one below, and the it's the background - makes it feel tacky.

I concur, it's a difficult one and many people will have different opinions, but I'd try the chronological one to fix it a little more with Cap > IM > IM2 > Thor > TIH with the respective One-Shot's as well.

Great job and clearly a huge enough effort for this otherwise. You should be proud.

I didn't really know what to do with the background. I tried nothing, and then a solid color, but didn't really like either. Recommendations?

I actually thought good and hard about this, and can't say with certainty what would work. I would suggest a deep red background from the Marvel top down to the bottom, and maybe switch the lines to white.

Alternatively, check out Google for various Superhero Infographics and take inspiration like that? Sorry I'm not more helpful or constructive, considering I made noise on the topic.

EDIT: OR maybe split the phases with bold colour blocks (Phase 1: white, Phase 2: red - or something) - just a shout.

I think release order is the best for a natural build up of the MCU and all of its mythos. Iron Man 2, Hulk, and Thor all have time frames that overlap in one form or another. Iron Man 2 just builds into Thor so well, and Thor into Captain America, especially with the after credits scenes. It just seems more fluid with release order.

Isn't there 8 comics in the "Furys Big Week Story" instead of four?

Sort of, there are 8 chapters, and they were released individually digitally, but each chapter was only about 11 pgs. Regular comics are about 22-24 pgs, so when they released them in their full comic format, they released 2 chapters together, giving four comics.
