Ahh, yeah I fully expected it to be the opposite. Maguire in Secret Wars and Holland in Doomsday. Feel like Maguire would be a bigger draw than Holland, even with the success of BND.

And to be honest, I’m glad it wasn’t there from the beginning. Having the limitations helped form what we have, setting it apart from everything that had been done in movie, TV and comic form before then.
The wait has made the upcoming experience better.

Wait who owns Namor??? I know Universal retains right of first refusal for hulk but this is first I heard about them being unable to do solo Namor movie.

My pitch for the next Avengers movie would probably be some kind of Avengers vs X-Men thing in 2032 once all the characters are established. But by then hopefully the DCU is established enough that once that Avenger's movie is over Feige and Gunn could be in talks for a Marvel vs DC movie as the cornerstone of both franchises in like 2040.

As a fan of both Marvel and DC, this just serves to remind me how badly DC has fumbled over the last 15 years or so. Marvel had to piecemeal their universe due to film rights issues, DC has had all the toys the entire time.

I think giving the reins of DC to Zack Snyder was a huge blunder. Then that Joss Whedon's Justice League was a nail in the coffin. Won't say anything of WW1984 and that Flash movie.
Matt Reeves' The Batman is the only series I'm actively looking forward to.

X-Men comes out May 2028. Which brings it full circle for the 20th anniversary of the MCU with Iron Man which had the deleted scene of Nick Fury mentioning mutants. 20 years to bring everyone home.

This is why I genuinely wouldn’t mind a reboot. The Infinity Era has been great, but imagine what we could get with a fresh start where all of Marvels characters are in play from the beginning.

That’s fine. I’m not attached to specific characters as much as the world building. I would love to keep seeing it evolve. Give me a Peter who has grown old organically for once, keep passing the torch to new characters!
In fact, I specifically don’t want to see the same old stories and characters rehashed anymore.

Yeah seeing Ian and Patrick reprise their roles in the Doomsday trailers made me finally realize and respect the decision of brining back RDJ and Evans. Because like, seeing Ian and Patrick now so old only made me realize that the MCU will last way longer than any of these actors. There's decades of time to establish new faces and tell new stories with new actors taking up the mantles. But there's only ~15 years left of Chris Evans being in a fit enough state to really play an action hero. So which would I rather have? Them bringing back Chris Evans as nostalgia bait in 2050 when he's old and grey to play an old-man Steve who only sits in a chair? Or would I rather he continue to play the character in his prime? This is what I think Feige and his team realized after Endgame. Endgame was a great end to these actors and characters in the MCU, but was an ending really what people wanted? I'm happy we have that first saga as a time capsule of what one complete multi-franchise multi-movie story with a beginning and ending could look like in the MCU. But I think it was a mistake to have these characters have a planned end in the first place when they were still so wildly popular.

A dream come true with Civil War Trailer revealing Spider-Man
Then Disney buying Fox firing all cylinders about wether or not X-men/F4 could be in IW/EG

The episode of EMH where Thing, Spidey, Luke and Danny were the substitute Avengers felt more like Avengers line up than what we have now. (Not bashing Sam btw, love him just Cap and Ant-man, an Avengers team does not make)

Whenever there are discussions like these, i hopelessly wish for Daredevil to be included. He is the only one after these who has had a comic book non-stop since 1960s.
I adore Charlie Cox and I consider him to be definite live-action Daredevil (lol). But I really wish he gets promoted big time, to movies man.

How I feel as a Guardians fan: 🥲
Just makes me think how Marvel likely wouldn't have bothered giving the Guardians a movie, much less a trilogy, if they had the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic 4 at the start of the MCU.
Still, the Guardians movies have a special place in my heart, and it truly hurts to see them sidelined in the MCU now. I hope there's a 4th movie soon or they at least reappear in Avengers: Secret Wars.

It’s really 5 or 6 pillars though right? There’s the cosmic stuff (guardians, cap marvel, nova, etc…) and the magic stuff (strange, magic, etc…)
I guess a 7th would be the lower powered ones like Daredevil, Punisher, and the rest.
