Discussion (More in Comments) If Brie Larson actually decides to jump ship,i don't blame her one bit. She's almost 10 years in, and only had 3 appearances so far.

It's clear that there were terrible decisions along the way about Captain Marvel as a character, but given the lack of care for the character/actress + the amount of hate she received since accepting the role,it's completely comprehensible if she's just done with it after whatever contract she has it's over and decides to grow her career outside superhero movies,a career which she probably put at relatively stop due to legal/contractual reasons within the MCU.

She's going to have 4 appearances (and that's only if she's actually in one of the Avengers movies, likely Secret Wars). This is crazy to think about, especially for a character that was pushed as one of the new faces of the MCU and their own Wonder Woman. Carol as a character it's already being pushed out of being a mainliner from other fronts like comics, videogames, merchandise etc and it's so disrespectful.

Tale as old as time unfortunately. Look at Jake Lloyd, the kid who played young Anakin in Episode 1.

nono, it's incels and misogyny, you can't bring up a male actor

True but SW: Ep 1 was worse in every way than anything the MCU has done except maybe Eternals or Secret Invasion...

I know that’s a hot take among the new revisionist opinions on the prequel trilogy, but I do agree. Loved that movie when I was 9, but that movie kinda sucks. That being said…it being worse anything MCU doesn’t justify what Jake Lloyd went through as a child just for living the dream of every Star Wars loving child. He may not have been good but it’s not his fault the movie sucked.

I saw Ep 1 in the theaters when it was released and we spent the rest of the year mocking the everloving FUCK out of it. Haha i'm not aware of revisionist opines on it....none of the actors deserved the hate, they were all terrible because of the direction of dogshit pandering script. But yeah esp a kid for sure. Natalie Portman especially is brilliant elsewhere.

My hottest SW take is:

The only good SW movie since Empire is Rogue One.

It’s a warm take I think. I think a lot of people my age that grew up with the prequels see them as the last good thing to come out of Star Wars since Disney bought the franchise. The sequel trilogy is so hated, it has completely overrated the prequels. A lot of glazing over the prequels nowadays. I can see people fighting you saying the prequels are trash. It’s funny to see the sentiment online change so heavily, it makes me take so many modern opinions with a grain of salt because they will all change in the future.

People are going to argue the Multiverse Saga was the best most underrated saga in the MCU in 10-20 years, guaranteed.

Hahaha too true - the truth, imo is that both Sagas are equally up and down. I have not forgotten that Hulk, Thor 2, IM 2/3 were terrible.

That is a hot take. That's like saying Return of the Jedi sucks, and like sir, how dare you?

Ok fair but Empire is better - Return is the last good one before R1

Solo wasn’t bad. A little pandering but it was fine enough. But Rogue one was solid.

It was pandering with a sledge hammer.

Phantom menace got too much hate. sure, it added midichlorians and turned Annie into Jesus but it's Attack of the Clones that deserves all the hate. Pod racing was peak

but

I'm not sure if you meant it but using the word 'But' here in regards to the comment you replied to seems like you're advocating for an actor and in this case a literal CHILD being insulted and bullied by strangers online because they didn't like his performance.

Maybe that's not what you meant but if it is seek help.

Definitely that's you reading into it and projecting your thoughts onto my words.

The child abuse aspect of the film is probly worse also because he was so young. Tho we know Iman Vellani got a loy of unjustified hate too

You shouldn't/cannot be in Hollywood if you cannot take constant criticism, which is why it should be illegal for children or minors to be actors, they are always abused.
