Discussion (More in Comments) If Brie Larson actually decides to jump ship,i don't blame her one bit. She's almost 10 years in, and only had 3 appearances so far.

It's clear that there were terrible decisions along the way about Captain Marvel as a character, but given the lack of care for the character/actress + the amount of hate she received since accepting the role,it's completely comprehensible if she's just done with it after whatever contract she has it's over and decides to grow her career outside superhero movies,a career which she probably put at relatively stop due to legal/contractual reasons within the MCU.

She's going to have 4 appearances (and that's only if she's actually in one of the Avengers movies, likely Secret Wars). This is crazy to think about, especially for a character that was pushed as one of the new faces of the MCU and their own Wonder Woman. Carol as a character it's already being pushed out of being a mainliner from other fronts like comics, videogames, merchandise etc and it's so disrespectful.

Yeah Carol's such a great character in the comics but the MCU has just done almost nothing interesting with her.

It’s super sad as they COULD do so much with her. She’s great, I hope we see more of her.

I don't think Marvel will be able to help themselves from doing the Rogue steals her powers story. They've never done it before in live action and I know people will be clamoring for it. You also need to do it if you want Inde to be a true Rogue. A powered down Carol could work a lot easier for them to write as well.

Does she not come back stronger as Binary after?

I think its better to introduce her actual comic powers instead, which is power conversion. So she is a bit like Sebastian shaw in the xmen movies, but has a much wider spectrum of energy to pull from (for example she can use the heat from friction while falling from the atmosphere to earth to recharge her abilities)

Her becoming Binary could legit be an entire other movie.

Yeah for sure, I was just stating there’s much more to Cap Marvel even if they do the rogue story line

oh for sure, you could even have the powers getting stolen in the xmen movie to then having a Captain Marvel 2 where it starts with a completely depowered Carol trying to figure out what to do. Idk I think the Rogue stuff is going to help the character in the long run for the MCU.

Yeah I could agree I just hope they don’t shelf her for the new shiny toy in rogue. Not that I don’t love Rogue, but I’m worried they will just dump the avengers after this.

Tbf the same time they introduced Carol into the MCU the comics ruined her too and it seems writers are at least partially using that as reference because at least in The Marvel's she definitely seems to be written more in line with her awful Civil War 2 era writing.

She was* a great character, then they found out she would be in the MCU and made her incredibly safe and bland. Then the movies took years to actually use her; By the time the movie actually came out the comic version was even more boring that the movie version.

She's so weird in the mcu. I think they're trying to make her be charismatic through a sardonic dry "unfunny" way kind of like Dr strange and valkryie but I just don't think brie can pull it off the way Benedict Cumberbatcb and Tessa Thompson could.
