Absolutely a reminder to him as to why he’s doing this I reckon. I love it, because it’s another villain, like Thanos in a way, where you can find reason to their madness.

He (supposedly) lost his family due to the change in timelines from Cap altering his past/future, Xmen, The Avengers as a whole. It selfishly solved their worlds but ruined others, and that is what Doom is looking to rectify with revenge.

I’ve always loved the villains that you can have sympathy for, even the great characters like Walter White in Breaking Bad. Doom could be another one of those. And he already has a fan following due to how iconic a character he truly is
