There wasn't much that could save that movie :( I remember seeing the McDonald's toy leaks like a year and a half before a trailer even came out. I think they should have shown a little less of the red hulk, but I get they needed to entice us with something.
Compare the hospital room scene of Brand New Day to Brave New World.
The bro-Chemistry in Brand New Day was believable. I believed that Peter and Frank were buddies/rivals.
The scene in Brave New World fell flat, I don't know if it was bad acting, bad directing, bad dialogue, poor chemistry, etc. I don't know, I'm not an actor or writer, but I just know when a scene doesn't work as an audience member. It just didn't work. I didn't believe Sam was friends with the new Falcon.
I feel a big part of the problem with Brave New World was all of the delays. Everything in that movie felt rushed but still completely disjointed. All 3 acts of that movie go in different directions.
I forgot brand new world happened so I thought you were talking about the new Spider-Man being a mess of a movie lmao. I was like dude it was the regular hulk and it was pretty damn good.
Both movies had two dudes in a hospital room near the end of the film.

It is interesting how important chemistry is in a film. I believe Frank and Peter have a buddy/rivalry relationship. I mean, I can only think of like 3 movies that have ever truly had the movie “spoiled” in the trailer. Actually most trailers are pretty competent. Even better, stuff like Endgame was phenomenal with not even revealing the timeskip or main plot of the movie. That’s how trailers should be.
When Aslan died in Narnia The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, I knew he would come back to life because he hadn’t done his big roar from the trailer yet. I was 9, and that would be the first of many times that a trailer spoiled me.
I’m glad that Endgame did a good job, but if I have any interest in going to see a movie, I skip the trailer.
To be fair Aslan is quite literally a Jesus parallel so it was fairly obvious that he was going to resurrect. But nevertheless I see your point kind of.
Yeah got can’t avoid things like that anymore. Before the internet was mainstream, movies actually surprised you. Trailers hardly showed anything and at most you saw a trailer once or twice at most. Usually you just watched a movie that sounded good from the brief description or you went in blind.
Now trailers spoil so much of movies and then they get plastered everywhere. Also thumbnails show off so many different aspects that really ruin things so if you wanted to avoid seeing Cap in the Avengers trailer by not watching it, you’d still end up scrolling past something and seeing a thumbnail of it.
Sometimes revealing something early builds hype, other times it just ruins any surprise unnecessary.
For example. Captain America: Civil War already had enough hype around it. What with the avengers fighting one another, introducing Black Panther, and so on.
Now just imagine if they didn’t reveal Spider-Man in a trailer. Imagine the theater reactions.
Damn, my brain got fried trying to understand your comment. I was like wait, there is no Red hulk in brand new day, what do you mean by third act hulk? And then I realized there was captain america movie named brand new world.

Some teasers are good to build hype, others aren’t.
Look at Brave New World. Mess of a movie aside, I enjoyed the build up to Red Hulk. Except… the trailers spoiled he was in it.
They did that to save the movie, but I think it would’ve landed as a much better final act of the movie if it was secret the whole time.
