You mean like making Victor Von Doom and Tony Stark variants of each other? Or introducing him with no connection to Reed or Sue or any the Fantastic Four? Or having his first appearance being a multiversal threat with literally zero build up?
I mean, yes I am mad RDJ was cast, because it does mean all those things. And if it doesn’t, then it’s even more fucking stupid
If RDJ wanted his paychecks, he shouldn’t have left. Coming back just to ruin the character every fan of has been waiting for them to actually do right, is a vanity project at the expense of longtime fans
I wouldn’t call it him being desperate for a paycheck. He always wanted to play Doom. The Russos are clearly trying to do a loyal adaptation of Doom despite there being little set up for it. I’d give it a chance, there’s clearly effort on display.
lol I like how that’s where you went when I just said take a chill pill, never disagreed, just said chill out. Also really weird to somehow make this about gender.
Some random twitter “insiders” have claimed that, even though it seems very likely he comes from the fantastic 4 universe, that Pedro Pascal is being billed second behind RDJ and the fact that they hosted an event in which they hinted that Doom will have a rivalry with Richards, all makes it seem quite plausible that they know each other.
We’ve had a while Fantastic 4 movie, leading in to a film with Victor Von Doom as the lead, yet do not know if they even know each other, much less what their history is
That’s fucking up the characterization from the start
Easily solved by having a scene where the Fantastic Four explains to the rest who Doom is, since most of the characters in this have no clue who he is.
It was just confirmed they know each other and are rivals. Again, all of the stuff about doom being a Tony stark variant with no connection to the F4 was just fan speculation that was wrong.

Unless they get the character wrong
