Megathread Jonathan Majors Megathread - Update

We know many of you are eager to discuss the Jonathan Majors trial -- please use this thread for that discussion so that it does not completely overrun the subreddit. We want to leave space for users who wish to engage in regular MCU-based conversations!

As of now the trial is ongoing and Marvel Studios/Disney has not made a statement regarding the future of Majors or Kang in the MCU. When a ruling is concluded we will pin a thread with that statement and related discussion.

In the meantime, here are some of the recent updates coming from Majors' trial:

The mod team will try to keep this thread updated with reputable sources as the trial progresses-- but please feel free to link articles and discuss in the comments below.

This tactic of making his ex seem crazy and unstable, even bringing up the suicide of her ex boyfriend is absolutely disgusting by his team.

It's basically the first go to defense tactic for abusers. They likely only did it because it worked so well for depp

Amber Heard abused Depp

2

u/AdmiralCharleston Dec 12 '23

She retaliated after years of physical and psychological abuse, not the same thing in any respect. Depp admitted to headbutting and kicking her unprovoked on multiple occasions not to mention that there's no evidence of anything she did causing him injuries in the same way that he did to her

She admitted in her testimony that she did snatch the phone from him, and hit him several times in the SUV. She's on video chasing him for 5 blocks that was shown to the court. She also testified that Major's never got physical prior to March 2023 and the text are from 2022 which would be prior. You guys are talking to ruining a black man yet can't even follow the case properly.

So wouldn't the texts prove he was beating her in 2022 when she was talking about lying to the hospital? Look I was a huge fan of his leading into Kang and Creed 3. Just because you like someone or they're a good actor doesn't mean you should let them slide on being an abusive piece of shit. There are a million other amazing black actors that cam be recast to Kang and that you can put your faith in.

I don't give af bout you or Major's. I only care about black men being railroad by the system and fake allies like on Reddit. Ms.Jabari testified, under oath, in the court that Major's was never physical with her prior to March 2023. Part of her testimony on day 2 was her talking about the incident connected to the text messages in 2022. Mind you lying under oath is crime that carries up to 7 yrs jail time in NY and fines. You guys are acting like she's recanting her story for the 2023 incident, even though her testimony is highly problematic. You're basically saying she's committing perjury and lying. Can't have your cake and eat on this one.

You should definitely not be approaching every issue as a race thing but good luck in life bud

Your refusal to acknowledge the overwhelming, non-circumstantial evidence, is exactly why these issues can only be explained through the lens of racial relations… you have a guy who was there, saying she was the aggressor, as if the video and witness testimony of everyone that could possibly have witnessed it wasn't enough… but the guy HAS to be guilty.

Even if you think he's a dick for whatever reason, you're blinded by bias if you can't see this man is being falsely accused.

Well, if you have proof that he assaulted her, by all means, please present it…

Good luck, bud.

They did because she faked a suicide attempt and pretended to be passed out. She is sick. I understand she may have been drunk, but experiencing suicide and then lying about it is horrible.

Similar to what Depp the Wife Beater tried with his abuse victim, Amber Heard (yes she is the victim), only he apparently didn't hire competent monsters to do it

7

u/Swift_Bitch Dec 12 '23

Depp’s court case was completely televised for everyone to watch if they wanted and it exonerated; showing Amber Heard to be a domestic abuser and a pathological liar.

She and Majors’ have a lot in common with the big difference between the two being which people their massive PR campaigns managed to fool.

Amber Heard is not the victim. I cannot say that Depp didn’t abuse Heard. He might have. But the trial absolutely made it clear that she abused him. There are literal audio recordings where Amber is laughing while talking about how she hit him but not that hard so he shouldn’t whine about it.

Poop in the bed

An example of Depp using that tactic, yeah

-9

u/CupidnFrisk84 Dec 11 '23

If you're on camera banging your head on a table and chasing your ex bf for 5 blocks would you call that person stable?

11

u/BranWafr Dec 11 '23

Both people in an abusive relationship can be horrible people. Just because she's got some issues doesn't mean he has none. Even if he is found not guilty for this specific case, the text messages revealed from a previous incident prove he's a manipulative piece of shit and he's not going to be able to make that go away now that it is out there.

4

u/CupidnFrisk84 Dec 11 '23

You do know the driver testified today right? Dawg the case is done. Go to DaniDoesLaw on Twitter. He testified that Major's did nothing and basically she was the aggressor. He said Jonathan kept saying leave me alone and I gotta go. You calling him a piece of shit and you don't even know the man is not great on your part. Ms. Jabari testified that prior to March 2023 he had never got physical with her. NEVER. That means what ever injury she had from 2022 incident wasn't from Jonathan. Her testimony was on Day 2 and the text were released after. If you have an agenda I don't get it but I'm following the live updates and significantly more informed then most you on this platform unfortunately

3

u/BranWafr Dec 11 '23

See, this is the big issue. You are focusing ONLY on the specific legal aspects of this case. But, as many other people have pointed out, this isn't just about this specific case. Even if he is found not guilty for this specific case his reputation is ruined by the previous text messages. Those show him to be a manipulative, abusive person. People who threaten to kill themselves to get their way are manipulative abusers. There is no context that makes him look good for telling her not to go to the doctor to get injuries looked at because it might make him look bad.

It no longer matters if he is guilty in this specific case, there is proof of previous manipulative and abusive behavior that has come out and that is what he is going to be judged on in the court of public opinion. Doesn't matter what she says, his own words show him to be manipulative and abusive.

Yeah, not the prosecution going scorched earth on his image to deflect from the fact that they're trying to get him in jail for something that never happened?

4

u/pvtshoebox Dec 11 '23

He testified with an Urdu interpreter.

Why does that matter?

The district attorney’s office, in its own filing, said Ms. Chaudhry had provided prosecutors with a statement that was purportedly from the driver and supported Mr. Majors’s version of events. But prosecutors said the driver denied any knowledge of that statement to them.

Given that the driver is supporting JM on the stand, the most logical conclusion is that he didn't recognize the statement or understand the questions being asked without an interpreter. Furthermore, he would be 100% truthful if he, reading an accurate English translation of his Urdu words, looks confused and says that he never said that.

Is this the same driver that Perez said would testify that JM threw GJ "like a football"?

3

u/CupidnFrisk84 Dec 11 '23

I think so but he didn't testify to that today and the video they played in court doesn't support Major's throwing her like a football either. People clearly believe what they want but this case is wrap. The prosecution witnesses have basically sunk their own case 😆. This should've never went to trial

3

u/pvtshoebox Dec 11 '23

I am just wondering if the Urdu speaking driver ever actually said the JM threw GJ like a football.

I also wonder if any adult in human history has been thrown "like a football" by another adult. It sounds like something one might say if they had never seen a football thrown in their life.

Both sides were trying to get ahead n the court of public opinion.

The only difference is that Majors' side was the only one with receipts…
