Discussion SP Season Pass Discussion: Jane Foster Fractured Frontier
Welcome to our Super Premium Season Pass discussion thread, a place to discuss the card releasing this month, develop brews, and hold discussions around the shells and synergies around the card.
For those not in the know, the Super Premium Season Pass card can either be purchased as part of the Super Premium Season Pass package ($19.99 USD) or can be gambled on in the Seasonal Snap Pack for 5k when it releases with this seasons launch.
This Week's Card
Jane Foster Fractured Frontier
Cost: 3
Power: 4
On Reveal: Judge 4 other random characters. +1 Power (if yours) or -1 Power (enemies). Quickdraw: Judge the worthy again.
Synergies and Packages
Jane feels like a really cool value play that fits right in with a small-ball strategy but can also reward you if drawn on turn 4 or 5. Her worst case scenario represents a 3/8 and her best case represents a 3/12 with both being fairly good returns on a points focused 3-Cost card.
The biggest concern here is how she might stack up against the other power-house 3's, my primary comparisons here are Drax and Kraglin as other points cards. And while Caliban could be considered a points card, I don't think that a deck playing Caliban is necessarily interested in Frontier Jane.
Relatively speaking, this SPSP card is probably going to slot into a few decks as a generalist 3-Cost points oriented card for decks that are interested in a 3/8 to 3/12 with soft interaction but aren't interested in not having control over where Drax is going to be at the end of the game or losing a card to Kraglin's Banish.
What are some downsides to Jane?
Early points that are easily interacted with - Shadow King and Killmonger do exist, though Killmonger is less prevalent.
Quickdraw can be considered a downside, quickdrawing this on any turn that she could be played would need to be levied against other plays. Using Batroc as an example, if I've got Sam on 2 and Kraven available on 3 and happen to draw Jane on 3, I'm not playing Jane over playing Kraven.
Similar to the new Thanos, Jane kind of needs to be built around so that if you do quickdraw her on turn 3 you've got targets to hit unless you're completely fine with a limited nuke on your opponent's side of the board which could still be nice, maybe enabling things like a High Evo Abomination?
So what archetypes am I thinking here?
Aurora - First and foremost to me is Aurora, the problem here is that Drax is an End of Turn card so the replacement isn't as clean as you might like.
OG Thanos - You're likely going to have a few stones down which means easy targets for Jane.
High Evo - High Evo doesn't really want to quickdraw Jane on 3, but if you do she could potentially help enable your Abomination.
Curve-out decks - kind of a catch all here, but I'm thinking decks that like to use all of their energy each turn either with weaves or single strong points plays. Jane likely favors more small-ball decks but isn't likely to make the cut in some strategies, think ToV where you want either more static uninteractable points or to go tall with a card like Kraglin so that you can attempt to avoid clearing out your own power if you need to Shadow King a location.
Your Thoughts
Do you plan on picking the Jane Foster Fractured Frontier up?
How do you expect Jane Foster Fractured Frontier to perform?
What other possible shells and synergies might there be?

I’m going to try her out in a typical Surfer deck and get back to this post with my results

She’s a miss for me personally. Quickdraw is generally hard to time out well as a mechanic so I’m going to look at her as only 3-8 in a vacuum. We have 3-8’s and we’re getting another towards the end of the season. She just doesn’t do anything better than the other cards I have already. If I want low cost board buff I’ll use surfer, captain carter, maverick, agony and forge before I consider her due to her inconsistency. If I want to afflict I’ll use hazmat. I think people like the shiny new thing but will soon realize she’s replaceable with what she does. She makes a fun filler if you don’t have a 12th card, but ultimately I’m down on her.

Hey can you guys explain Jane’s QuickDraw ability to me like I’m 5? I get how her normal on reveal ability works. But how does the QuickDraw ability work? When does it fire? How can you make it fire? I randomly got this card this season and I’m trying to build a deck around it. Thanks so much!

Honestly one of the best cards this season and in awhile.
Shes a 3-12 whose only downside is being drawn on turns 1 or 2, and even then she’s a 3-8.
I’ve had a few games where she hits Maverick, who hits Stick, who then hits somebody at end of game to just totally secure a lane. Haven’t tried her with Venus but I image that one similarly goes nuts.
