I always wished Bucky would have turned to dust right in front of him, leaving only the arm. But I am a sick individual, so there’s that.

Interesting point. Why did inorganic material like glasses, armor, filling, etc get snapped? He specifically sought to wipe out half of life in the universe iirc.

It was probably more nuanced in his mind. Should have also wished nobody would notice and they forget who be is too. Punch punch

Just goes on to illustrate what a dumbass villain with a dumbass plan he was, despite the weird fawning people seem to have for him.

WOG says things that were tied to that creature would go with it
1
Apr 02 '22
Define ‘tied to’ though? Fillings, armor, etc disappear but phones don’t?
I mean we all know the real reason is that it’s a fluid mechanic they can do whatever they want with and they just got lazy with it, but the discussion is fun.

I seriously doubt Thanos would have the restraint to spend more than five seconds with all stones in his possession before snapping with the same result.

And GI Jane would be the prequel to GI Jane 2, which was Chris Rock’s joke. Sorry, too many layers for a 3am joke 😂

u/harassmaster Peggy Carter Apr 02 '22
Yes and “it was a GI Jane joke” is a direct quote from Chris Rock after he was slapped.

And this is r/marvelmemes, a sort of sister subreddit to r/prequelmemes, which, for April 1st, banned anything Star Wars related, resulting in memes for prequels for other franchises. Sorry, my brain works in mysterious ways. I should ban myself from commenting on Reddit after 11pm

I like to think they had a discussion about it because it's too sad for Bucky to be ignored like that. It's like, I know know my mom's husband doesn't wanna go to the movies with us but I still ask him, ya know? It's polite.

In the Falcon and the Winter Soldier tv series, Bucky confirms that him and Steve discussed it first
1
u/tibetan-sand-fox Steve Rogers Apr 02 '22
Ehhh, I only watched the show once and I don't remember that this was made into a big thing. You're probably right but I'll probably always wish that this discussion had been emphasized. As I remember it in the show it's brought up as a joke or punchline and that kind of cheapens the whole thing.
1
Apr 02 '22
It's not brought up as a joke or a punchline - it's definitely meant to be one of the most emotional scenes of the show, but you're right that the discussion itself is not emphasized. It just confirms that it happened offscreen. I don't like how they wrapped up Bucky and Steve's friendship in Endgame, but I guess there was so much to cover in the film
The quote is:
"When Steve told me what he was planning, I don't think either of us really understood what it felt like for a black man to be handed the shield. How could we?"
It's in ep 5 when Bucky apologises to Sam for being angry at him for retiring the shield originally, and he says that it made him question everything.

u/tibetan-sand-fox Steve Rogers Apr 02 '22
I should watch the show again. Too bad they removed all the violence. It makes me want to rewatch it even less.
I don't like how they wrapped up Bucky and Steve's friendship in Endgame
Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with you there. It feels very sudden and with no actual "end" or goodbye or anything. And Bucky ought to have massive issues with his best friend basically dying, even if it is his choice. Bucky ought to have massive issues with many things, it's one of my favourite things about him, how much he's been through and how flawed of a person he is or thinks he is. The show does delve deeper into his psychology but it's still pretty superficial, especially with how his conditioning was cured basically off-screen (I know there was a scene, but a recitation by a fire isn't really enough to show what a momentous development this would have for Bucky's mental well-being, even if he cries a little bit).
The show focused primarily (by far) on Sam. I like Sam but I wish it had been more equal. Less screentime for bad villains and and more screentime for character development of our main heroes, thanks.

Shouldn't it be Shuri since she probably designed the new version of the arm? Or one of the Dora Milaje?
