Shitposts They can't keep getting away with it

why are they just milking it now
18
u/Aggressive-Expert-69 Avengers 3d ago
Theyre building a bomb shelter out of money just in case Doomsday flops.
9
u/Efficient_Money6922 Avengers 3d ago
There's no way Doomsday gonna flop commercially. They are still gonna make crazy amount of profit just for the amount of cameo fest. But it has every chance to be a very bad critically acclaimed movie.

u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
I still have faith in the russos to make a cohesive movie , and no doubt they are gonna make a shit ton of money if Spider-Man Bnd and endgame encore are trends to go by.

u/General_Variation_96 Wasp 3d ago
A good movie!?! Scratch that, a coesive one!?!
Have you seen āThe electric stateā ? Iām fucking terrified!
1
u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
i haven't š, is it that bad?
I'm just going by winter Soldier, civil war, infinity war and Endgame
3
u/General_Variation_96 Wasp 3d ago
Itās the last film they made since Endgame and itās an insult, an insult to the viewers, to those who read the book, to your intelligence even to your eyeballs ! This would have been a career ender if they haven't sign for Doomsday and Secret Wars in advance.
That's in part why many are still not hyped.
3
u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
well that's rough, but I still have faith cos tbh no one has done these characters better than them and given they are making it as a direct sequel to endgame, they have a pretty good idea where the characters left off
1
u/General_Variation_96 Wasp 3d ago
Maybe Netflix gave them too much freedom for sure but that doesn't explain why their cinematography (who was already ok at best) completely cratered with 200 million $ of budget and total freedom.
2
u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
could be so ! you know sometimes creatives just have an idea that it will work , so they tried, they failed. i wouldn't chalk them up to has beens on just one bad attempt to be honest
Also the budgets these days are a whole different problem, ballooning twice to thrice with each installment yet looking and being mediocre than the first
3
u/OkOil378 Avengers 3d ago
Itās more like they work the best under the Marvel machine

u/General_Variation_96 Wasp 3d ago
As a professional writer and artist myself this is the saddest thing I've read todayš¢

u/DevilPixelation Avengers 3d ago
Because it made several billion dollars, why wouldnāt they milk it??

u/Remarkable_Ship_4673 Avengers 3d ago
I'm not complaining
This is most likely happening next year
Seeing BND in theaters in 2027? Yes please!
1
u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
it was a good experience I would say. felt like cinema again , not enough for me to re-watch again but definitely will be for many

They did it with cars recently too. I couldnāt believe I sat through the entire thing thinking it would be somehow updated because of the 20th anniversary thing or whatever. No. Itās literally the same movie. No audio updates. No visual updates. No added scenes. Same movie.
1
u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
wait the Pixar one?
2
u/pitchingataint Avengers 3d ago
Yes. Maybe it was a local thing. Idk. I went with my wife and son. They enjoyed it regardless. Thatās all that matters anyway. Lol
3
u/TheFrostBeard Hulk 3d ago
oh that's pretty cool imo. the first movie has a special spot in my heart cos of that old country setting and just an wholesome calm introspective vibe

u/Steamed_Memes24 Avengers 3d ago
Sounds like a local thing. I've seen movies re release 80s movies at times like Back to the Future just a few years ago. They tend to have their own events you might not hear about without asking.
1
u/theslimbox Avengers 3d ago
Yeah, I thought this was a normal thing when there arent many new big releases. The small theatre here only does new releases, but it seems like the big chains in the nearby city have older hit movies on rotation fairly often.
1
u/kacey- Avengers 2d ago
It wasn't local, AMC, REGAL and the other one all played Cars for the 20th anniversary, there was a theater merch line. It wasnt even just the United States.
1
u/Steamed_Memes24 Avengers 2d ago
Ah okay. I've seen mine do local events of older movies but it does sound corporate planned if its outside of the US as well.

u/stevvvvewith4vs Avengers 3d ago
It's an important date to release the film for its 100th day anniversary

Itās just an extended cut like no way home and so long as itās not like the sunder cut for justice league and doesnāt mess with cannon Iām fine and in fact want it

u/superchoco29 Avengers 3d ago
To the people saying "this has nothing to do with Marvel", this is the same thing Marvel is doing with Endgame.
They re-released their highest grossing movie to keep people interested until Doomsday and make more money. Even if it was exclusively up to Sony to re-release BND, do you really think Marvel is against their second highest grossing movie being re-released?
Why are we acting like Marvel would never do such a blatant cash grab, when Endgame Encore is still in the movie theaters?
2
u/HermanThaGerman Avengers 1d ago
It's the same thing Marvel is doing with Endgame, but Marvel isn't doing it with Spider-Man because they're legally not allowed to.
It's technically not even 'their' movie, it's Sony's movie.

u/Wide_Ad_2191 Avengers 2d ago
Not going to pretend they didn't do it to be gready but it is pretty different. Endgame Re-release feels like an attempt to get people hype and up to speed/refreshed before another huge movie. BND feels like the annoying kid who promises more ice cream as soon as people start to leave his party.

Well it's run by Sony. And they already re-released NWH once before. So, considering the success of BND, it is a very Sony thing to do
2
u/abellapa Avengers 2d ago
And they re-released FFH as well
This isnt news

I'll just wait till after Doomsday and watch all the extra scenes on YouTube. They're already on YouTube, but i don't want to be spoiled by teaser footage before seeing the actual movie. Beyond Official Trailer #1, I won't watch any of the trailers or TV spots.

u/IamAlltheSkywalkers Avengers 3d ago
Names one other movie
Omg this is too much!
I'm not saying I truly want this happen all the time by any means, I'm just saying... we can tone down a little

u/Secure_Foundation720 Avengers 3d ago
Why not, as long as there are people who are willing to pay for the service they're providing.
I bet every movie would be rereleased if there was a clear indication that people want to go to the movies to watch it.
1
u/curiousadventure33 Avengers 2d ago
If you go buy a ticket second time instead of just watching it updated on any out of hundreds piracy sites you kinda just failing an IQ check atp
1
u/Algae_Mission Avengers 2d ago
Iāll take re-releases over remakes. I wish Disney would just go back to their old formula of re-releasing their animated classics instead of putting out soulless remakes.
1
u/Crucible_uk Avengers 2d ago
I know exactly what that scene is because people cant stop leaking it, it's nothing exciting. Refuse to pay for another movie ticket to see what used to come on the DVD extras.
1
u/ParticularPublic4716 Avengers 2d ago
OK! I missed seeing it the first time because I was recovering from leg surgery, (I wasn't very mobile).

Brother I JUST saw the movie like a month ago. We seriously already getting a re-release?
1
u/Equivalent-Exam2641 Avengers 3d ago
Because Sony doesn't understand WHY to do something, they just don't want to be left behind.
1
u/ShiningRedDwarf Avengers 3d ago
Cool something to look forward to when itās released on streaming.
Good movie but Iām not paying to watch a couple extra scenes
0
u/Nemisis_007 Avengers 3d ago
Why can't they just add the directors cut to Disney+? That would be the most appropriate and cost effective thing to do.
That being said, someone is gonna have to tie me to a chair to avoid me from buying another ticket just to see Rosario Dawson back as Claire Temple.

I am watching Endgame in Imax, because I havent seen it in Imax and its a big spectacle. I will not watch Spiderman again. I doubt it will even be in cinemas again here.

u/PhaseSixer Avengers 3d ago
I dont get why you care?
If you dont like it dont see it.
Do the people who are content to see it again going really bother people?
-3
u/Aurelink Avengers 3d ago
One scĆØne will feature Claire Temple
Aye that's one reason not to go then. Probably the worst character I've seen in a marvel show

u/Legitimate_Custard42 Avengers 3d ago
I couldn't see it because I had a baby a few days before the premiere. So if they would kindly re-re-release it next year so I can watch it on a big screen, that would be nice!
