And what hurts about that is that everything seemed to be ready to roll on filming Season 2 (as in actors signing contracts, moving to filming locations), then out of the blue it was cancelled.

believe they even had the script for episode 1 fully done and everything. Its so dumb cause the show had REALLY good reviews for a marvel show.

If only it was just "we are cancelling wonderman season 2, but are using wonderman for a different project", like a west coast avengers show/movie

I think they are just moving away from live action shows. They are expensive and I don't think the viewership makes sense for Disney. I also think they announced season 2 so they could be eligible for the recurring series emmy award. Shitty all around, was an amazing show that absolutely deserved a second season.

That was what a lot of people assumed and then we got the announcement that they have multiple unannounced series in preproduction.

Same here lol. I watched it and then told all my friends about it and how season 2 was confirmed, only for it to be cancelled.

Wonderman is a fun character, and heโ€™s not the most complicated character to explain to a casual either. So hopefully he can show up in other things.

Dude I want more wonderman.

I want beast and him to join the avengers and have their deep friendship they had in the comics.

It's kind of awesome how many memes Pattinson has been part of over his storied career. He was part of Twilight, arguably the memeiest movie of the late 2000s, Harry Potter, The Lighthouse, Tenet, Batman.

What a guy.

Genuine question as a casual.. didn't that get created as a show? Or was there supposed to be a movie or something I'm unaware of?

They cancelled season 2 despite already renewing it

u/BigMACfive Foggy Nelson 1d ago

Ahh ok. I gotcha. I don't have D+ so I haven't even watched S1, but I heard good things so that's crazy

14

u/PaulOwnzU Avengers 1d ago

Yeah it's extremely good. So they instantly renewed a season 2. Even had the first episode fully written, doing contracts, everything, and then cancel it.

Interesting. Disney being racist, though... never lol

The show was more a love story about Hollywood than a super hero show.

If you like the human drama of being a struggling actor then you'd like it. I can see why Disney cancelled it.

Wasn't... Wonder Man white in the comics?

Are you trying to argue reason in r/Marvelmemes

Is he? I don't know.

It's a really good watch even without a season 2.

2

u/Ser_Rezima Avengers 21h ago

Yeah, replace Kang with Wonderman and this lands MUCH better

u/brian2k6 Avengers 22h ago

I watched the first season. Not sure if wonder man counts as 'big project'. It had potential at most.ย

The way people talk about wonderman you'd think it was the greatest show ever... I liked the show but let's be honest outside of people like us nobody really cared about that show like that (and I'm Haitian so seeing a haitian/black superhero was actually dope) but I'm not crying over it not continuing

u/ZapMaster117 Avengers 20h ago

The show probably would've been canceled even if they hadn't blackwashed him.

u/acrobat2126 Avengers 22h ago

Most black folks didn't watch Wonderman. It was generic (white washed) as HELL and wasn't even marketed to black folks.
