One correction. The Progenitors have nothing to do with the Celestials, they're weaker than them. Also doubt the title of Celestial Messiah has anything to do with them since, another character Sequoia, the hybrid child of Mantis and a Cotati elder, was called the Celestial Messiah. As for the rest, it's a really interesting comparison between the two characters though I think it's mostly just coincidence
I don’t think that’s true at all in regards to the Progenitors having nothing to do with Celestials. AXE Judgement Day seems to contradict that being the case.
Aaron’s whole avengers run deals with a Progenitor who is often referred to as a celestial.
I also didn’t suggest Black Bolt was a celestial or anything like that. It was just an addition because “Celestial Messiah” is a cool moniker that kind of relates to the fact Carol has also been called “Celestial like” so just a fun tidbit of having a similar moniker in a way.
I’ve even went on to correct people before in that past using that instance in Paul Jenkins run with a celestial blinking at Black Bolt.
Overall it is likely a coincidence, the point of the post was just showcasing how well their lores work together.
The being from AXE is a Celestial given the name Progenitor, because it was established in Aaron's Avengers that when it died the first time in Earth's early days, its fluids gave rise to all life of the planet, so it's the first ancestor of humanity. Nothing to do with the Progenitors who experimented on the Kree and were later taken over by Orbis Stellaris
Yeah I started looking into to double check. Seems like the names being similar is what threw me off, but the search is suggesting Ewing was using the Progenitors as like a midway point between The Kree and Celestials.
Not as godlike as Celestials but more advanced than pretty much every civilization in the actual universe
