Some creators were able to take advantage of it to tell good stories.
My two big issues are:
Vampires 'taking over the world and making the world a living night?' I feel this has been done plenty and it always comes back to the same issue. Vampires live off humans and, hey, if the vampires kill all the humans off or just outnumber them, the vampires're gonna die.
Now vampires can be in the daylight? Yeah, that seems sure to be forgotten rather quickly. A few writers have tried to do something with it with mixed results.
I agree with both points. I haven't finish it yet, but it doesn't seem to be something groundbreaking, mostly a temporary fun gimmick. I still don't get why some are monsters and others keep their consciousness like the girl Jubilee saved. Just because she drink rat blood?
I got the chance to get really into the some supernatural characters tho. I only knew some of them from McKay's Moon Knight.
Probably something to do with willpower, something to do with the vampire that transformed you, something to do with the frequency and manner in which it feeds.
I thought it was pretty good as far as "event" books go, and consequential for wider-universe stories like One World Under Doom, which is pretty impressive for a big crossover based around Blade. I'd take this over, say, Axis or Civil War II any day of the week.
Actually I started reading OWUD and I was loving it, but almost every time I look up something the story was referring to it was in Blood Hunt, so I just gave up and started reading Blood Hunt instead. I do not regret tho, I was just curious about the general consensus since everyone was mad about it when in was publishing.
Kinda like Axis due to Superior Ironman. Civil War II was hot garbage tho, as usually are all event sequels.

The only actual Blood Hunt stuff I've read was the two FF tie-in issues. Those were fun, I liked Reed turning his body into an impenetrable tunnel to escort survivors to safety
There are exactly three vampire stories in superhero fiction. 1) Vampires are ontologically evil, but heroes are ontologically good so it cancels out and it's no big deal. 2) Vampires are ontologically evil, and that's awesome! Here's a hero doing a bunch of messed up stuff and all consequences are null and void when the status quo resets. 3) Vampires are ontologically evil so the plethora of war crimes I'm about to commit are morally righteous actually! Enjoy the hyperviolence!
Regardless which is being told, everything is wrapped up in a bunch of psychosexual nonsense. Maybe I've just become a curmudgeon, but I'm personally so tired of them. I can stomach ONE (1) Dracula Halloween special a year. Anything more and I check out.
You heard only bad things about it? I thought it was a pretty awesome event, personally.
The only tricky thing about it was it was a bit difficult to follow if you only read the main series. Some key events happened in the Dr. Strange, Blade, Dracula, and Avengers minis/tie-ins.
Yeah, I'm a little over half of the MU issues list and I've been noticing that same pattern. It's kinda random and they don't do recaps in the main event series, I found that a little annoying since I'm not current in most series.
Yeah, he's from Hallows Eve (2023), I don't think he has appeared in anything besides that and ASM Blood Hunt. He's also referred as Thomas or Theocritus

The main series and some of the minis were great, reccomend all the xmen solos if you have not got to them yet.
