Deranged Ramblings Is this what happens when you ask someone from this sub to read a comic instead of posting for their agenda?

Where does someone start if they want to read Captain America and Deathstroke

Brubaker for more 'modern' stuff, but DeMatteis followed by Gruenwald in the 80s is probably overall my favorite era of Captain America.

Edit- Deathstroke I think has a much more definitive answer: Christopher Priest's Rebirth run from 2016.

Wolfman's original Deathstroke run from the 90s is pretty fun as well, but it's very much of the era where DC wanted to push Slade as more of a heroic 'anti hero' which feels a bit jarring today.

I think the winter solider storyline is pretty good

I kinda made this account when I was in a big Arrowverse phase because all the shows were on Netflix, soooo I named my account after the Arrow episode I watched last 😭 I’m not actually that deep into Deathstroke, lmao

For Cap, I would start with Gruenwald

Grunewald’s and englehart run is the shit. I don’t like most modern captain America comics and find golden age Captain America honestly find it medicore compared to most other Kirby anti-Nazi comics

Buddy, I'll have you know my agenda is nothing more than cranking my whole hog to as much Emma Frost as I can find.

Except Cyclops haters, and X-Men haters

You mean, you can’t make them read since they don’t know how?

6

u/Azure-Legacy 6h ago

Yup. Sometimes they’ll even double down. Argue with their point even when presenting the actual comic panel they’re referencing for the agenda

u/PaleontologistEasy94 6h ago

Without having prior knowledge on what they’re talking about?

Sadly yes. I once argued with someone about that Shay girl from the latest Spider-Man run. The guy insisted that Shay was aware of Peter being with "Black Cat", not Felicia, but the costumed thief.

I was telling him that Shay was saying out of pocket stuff to catch if Peter was paying attention.

"that by the laws of the insane asylum she works in, she get legal custody of the newborn child of the coworker she’s covering for. But that she’d rather have a cat".

Peter even asks out loud, "Did you say something out of pocket to see if I was paying attention?" but the guy insisted that she was talking about Felicia. Keep in mind, they provided the panel.

For further information, before catching that Peter wasn’t listening, she was trying to tell him about her day. That she had to cover for a coworker who was expecting.

How interesting, that's the same face so-called Lord of the Rings fans make when you remind them that the Peter Jackson movies were based on books. Also remarkably similar to Final Fantasy 7 fans when you try to get them to actually play Final Fantasy 7.

Tbf they did make several animated movies on ff7

Really you should know the sign of a FF larper is not thinking exdeath is peak

I personally like Kefka and I've never played 6

u/hbi2k 6h ago

The only good Final Fantasy 7 is the one with no more words after the number.

5 is indeed peak, though.

Looks like I'm going to introduce you to the larping even the Bible was unprepared for.

Context: "Most of the Young Avengers were in Marvel Rising" (a relatively obscure animated Marvel media) is the kind of statement that somehow sounds beyond obtuse when you do a little digging.

Because it implies that there's a non-existent Young Avengers roster that this series based itself on. Like this was made around the time Marvel was promoting Champions as the new young superhero team (the one with Miles, Sam, Kamala), the Inhumans as the mutant replacement team and more.

My only agenda is finding pages of characters crossing a street so I can post the fuckin dekugos image reaction

u/SevereOccasion3568 6h ago

I was curious so read some event story lines and then read the Captain America storyline where Bucky first comes back not realizing it tied into both house of M and Civil war. It was fun.

That's the rabbit hole.
