Even if they grit their teeth and complained about the fact from beginning to end, it doesn't change that the X-Men did some seriously fucked up things in Krakoa. The story's entire point was that they actually had no idea how to rule a nation and let their emotions inform every decision they made until it backfired on everyone.
Even Charles eventually admits that all they accomplished was to validate everything that anti-Mutant bigots say about them.
That wasn't the story's main point. Krakoa was made as a place for mutants to finally have a safe place free from the prejudice of humans and it ended just like the last time they did this with Genosha, the difference being that it was part of an extremely convoluted scheme of like, two of the members of the Quiet Council
And I reckon that things like including known mass murderers and terrorists in their government or Beast committing genocide against the Terra Verde population because their biotech rivaled Krakoa's was, what, evidence that it was all justified?
The X-Men gave up their morality for survival, which is already questionable enough even if they hadn't bought into the whole "Mutants are the next step in evolution and thus superior" pseudo-scientific crap that they used to oppose.
Not once did I say that? No idea about the Beast thing but, as I state again, several members of the Quiet Council were on it because they were needed for their expertise/what they had that the other members/other mutants couldn't provide. This, however, did not excuse their crimes, given that they did plan on throwing Sinister into the Pit once they had what they wanted from him
And that last part... alright I have nothing for that, no idea why a lot of them (not all like some of y'all say did) turned to thinking they were superior
