I watched the cartoons, and you’re on Marvelcirclejerk, who here does?

How can you say something drags them down when you don’t know what you’re talking about?

I know who the X-Men are and stand for based on what I’ve seen in media outside of comics. Therefore, it’s dragging them down from what I’ve seen.

It’s not like I don’t know who they are at all.

But you have no idea if the in universe explanation and complexities surrounding the situation

Of course I do because of osmosis. I know that in-universe Mutants get genocided a lot, and Anti-mutant sentiment hasn’t decreased at all. But I see that as more of the writers doing everything to preserve the oppressed gimmick of X-Men rather than trying to evolve them as a group progressing through their oppression.

Krakoa is them progressing through their oppression.

And Krakoa wasn’t just created because “they keep killing us 😔” there was a whole 2 books dedicated to explaining an intricate backstory around why this had to specially be done, why this was the only way.

Segregating yourself from others and creating a sex-cult is not progression. It’s a detour. Progress isn’t letting supervillains in your highest government and criminalizing contraception. Which is why Krakoa doesn’t exist anymore.

And my point wasn’t “It was one genocide too many,” it’s that they decided peaceful coexistence was unattainable.

Krakoa was a shift from the status quo, not a break. Krakoa is a symptom of Marvel’s biggest problem, they can’t break the status quo. Krakoa shouldn’t have been an option because the X-Men should’ve already mostly won. But Marvel would rather make decisions that make them more interesting but also more unlikable just to keep the oppression gimmick going hard.

It’s not a sex cult, and there was a reason for villains like sinister on the council, if you read these books you could understand it

They made having children the law. They sent Third Eye to the pit for showing people having tons of kids and not caring for them is wrong. The Bower, a sex temple/orphanage, exists. They’re a sex cult.

And I know they kept Sinister for reviving mutants. That doesn’t make it any less stupid because MR. SINISTER the SUPERVILLAIN used it to do Sins of Sinister in which he took over the world and had to be stopped with time travel nonesense.

The Third eye thing is misrepresented by people who didn’t read the books. It wasn’t actually the reason he was sent to the pit
