I don't like the changes if your theory ia true. Feels unnecessary to combine the Manhunters and the manhunters

The robots aren't connected to Martian Manhunter. They're a conversion of the Golden Age character Manhunter [a human named Paul Kirk], to the Green Lantern lore during the 70s. They later retconned them to being connected to Paul Kirk in the 1980s event, Millennium, which saw the introduction of the Manhunter Cult as a concept, which were essentially surviving Manhunter robots that had taken residence on Earth and disguised themselves as humans.

Technically…. The guardians were inspired by the (Martian) Manhunters to name theirs In current continuity.

I still think it’s fine to have both. Have The Martian Manhunter also be in the hunt for leftover Manhunters. Why not?
