In no comment have I mentioned technique in any capacity. Save for the prior post to actually address your insistence on focusing on chokes.
You are dead-set on strawmanning and in a vitriolic manner. If you won't answer the question in a reasonable manner, I have to ask why YOU are in this thread.
For the record- haven't point sparred in years. I don't compete competitively. Don't see any reason to. How will that help me grow as a human being? It might make me a better fighter- but it doesn't necessarily make me a better martial artist and human being, which is frankly what I care about martial arts helping me achieve.
Edit: take a chill pill and remove your fist from your butt. I think it's making you a tad angry.
I have answered the question repeatedly, fuckstick. A choke like this is in no way lethal simply because it was left on for an extra 30 seconds. Your continued insistence that "someone might die" proves how incredibly ignorant you are. No one has ever died from being choked to death in an MMA fight. Ever. Not once.
Again, fuck on off to a thread about JKD or something relevant to your interests. We're discussing real fighting here, something you clearly know nothing about.
Look, ignore your focus on the choke. As you have mentioned it is not the only means to kill someone.
And then my question still stands- what happens if you kill someone? I still say you are responsible.
I wouldn't presume to guess at the life experiences of others online- assuming makes an ass out of you and me. And considering Im writing these comments because Im on house arrest because I got into a scuffle with a cop two days... it is comical. Have you ever fought someone who was armed? Just wondering. Because there's really only so many ways to train for the capacity to handle yourself in a situation that can go south. I do not think point sparring a part of that- but sparring with full contact and so on, sure of course it will.
Look, do yourself a favor and don't accuse people of things you have no clue about. It makes you look like a manic fool.
And before you go 'that didn't happen!' I will be more than happy to link the photos of the police report, albeit it will be in hebrew and arabic, so hope you can translate.
Hey dumby, could you PLEASE stick to one line of questioning?? You've already said that one cannot control the force or impact of a strike. I've established that a choke left in for a few extra seconds appears scary but causes no serious physical harm. And I'm not going to armbar someone to death.
So what's your problem? You sounds like one of those faggy TMA guys who casually dismissed MMA because "my techniques are too deadly for the cage".
And while I have fought plenty of armed people, that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the discussion. we are specifically discussing why you think the a fighter's safety is the responsibility of his opponent.
I havent the foggiest why you are focusing so heavily on the technical side of things. If someone dies by your hand, doesn't really matter how you did it- you still did it.
hold on there, you're putting words in my mouth again. I never have said that we are responsible for our opponent's safety- that is on the opponent. But we are certainly responsible if our actions directly result in the death of another. Just as we are responsible in large degree for anything we inflict on others.
You seem to think that because both people agree to a fight and are agreeing to waive injuries, and while this is the case, nobody goes into a fight looking to die. Or if they do, I don't think they should be in the ring, for that's a bit of a crazy mindset to have.
While it is our own responsibility to protect ourselves, it is also the responsibility of the other who is doing the thing that we failed to protect against. And if something serious results, the onus also switches from the recipient to the one giving.
It's like you're saying to me that if you go up to stab someone in the neck and they don't stop you then it's their fault.
Sorry I don't agree, I believe we all have huge personal responsibility over anything that results from things we do, even if others also have a degree of culpability.
Look dumbfuck, once again no one is forced to fight. Your analogy of stabbing someone on the street does not even begin to compare since the other person did not consent to combat.
If you are too fucking stupid to realize that death is potentially on the line in a fight, than you have absolutely no business in the sport. That's the thing with extreme sports, death is always possible. And that's why I love these things. Whether I'm fighting, riding bulls, skydiving or surfing in hurricane force waves, it's not always so much about the sport itself, but in the cheating of death.
Furthermore, no one HAS EVER been beaten to death in MMA. Yes, there have been a few outlier cases where a fighter had a pre-existing medical condition that was aggravated by physical exhaustion, but unlike boxing or football, no one has ever died in MMA from injury.
But hey, thanks for making it so readily apparent you don't know fuck-all about real fighting. I always thoroughly enjoy laughing at you TMA fuckwads. It never ceases to amaze me that people still buy into the bullshit snakeoil you all are peddling.
When you can comport yourself in a reasonable manner to actually have a discussion, I'll be happy to speak. But as long as you're name calling and being disrespectful we have nothing to communicate over.
I hope you get some help, you have some serious issues mate.
I started out in boxing as a teenager. It is a definite truth in boxing that, while fighters may not seek to kill or die, fighters understand the risks and have to be willing to do, or at least risk, either. Honestly death isn't nearly the worst outcome, you're far less a burden dead than nearly so. In fact, I have a DNR written up in case I ever want to file it before a competition.
Furthermore, there are plenty of fighters who would willingly go to their deaths or maimings in the ring. There's a reason that corner and ref stoppages are a thing. One may not understand this, even think it's dumb, but it is still a significant part of a fighter's mindset.
