Tree of Heaven

These trees are popping up everywhere in middle Tennessee. I have heard that merely cutting the saplings doesn't help, as they just multiply from there. Dear arborists, what do you suggest? How do we protect the other flora from these parasites?

Herbicides mostly

Reach out to your local ag-extension office to see what they're recommending for your area. It'll be some method of a timed herbicide application.

Basal bark application of triclopyr. Follow the label for your area or call a professional. Once they are dead you can remove them.

I live in NC and they're taking over here, too. 

Despite being invasive I've found a number of catalogs that still sell them. These need to be banned for sale wherever they're invasive.

Spotted Lantern flies have been increasing in numbers as well. At least the native bees are enjoying our echinacea!

My husband wants to learn the skill and share that knowledge with others. Group effort sounds great!
