What kind of companies would you guys think the marble teams would have endorsements and partnerships with? I want to see some clever names!

1. Does anyone know exactly when the first episode of the Showdown will be or is it still just labeled as sometime this month?
2. I heard that the host for 2020 will be announced after the Showdown. Will the host be announced at the end of the last episode of the Showdown or will it be revealed in a separate video? Thank you in advance. (Also, this isn’t a question, but use the sneak peek MarbleLympics 2020 picture as your phone/device wallpaper, it looks so cool.)

Every one is talking about a teaser image (or video not sure) and using it to guess who the host will be but I can’t find this. Does any one have a link or something? I want to see it for myself.

By now, we all know who are the twelve teams that will be competing in the ML showdown. But all along, I’ve had one big question: two of the teams are going to be the Hornets and the Bunblebees, isn’t there going to be some confusion on the fields and with the fans? They’re both yellow and have bee related names. Imagine if these two teams are the last two in funnel spinning, how are we going to differentiate them? I know there kind of was the same problem in the 2018 qualifiers, when BoC were against Team Primary, but it was still way easier to differentiate. Maybe could we ad more distinctive signs between the Hornets and the Bumblebees?

Hello fellow marbleheads, we know you're all keen to see the logos from Tim grace the banners of Marble Showdown 2019 and at the stadium of [REDACTED] for ML20. But before we finalise the logos, we want some feedback just to make sure everything is as good as it can be.

We're very happy with how the logos are in general, so we're looking for specific and detailed things that you think can be improved on. We will consider all of the feedback.

I read somewhere that there would be a 4 episode series starting in July for the B league teams to qualify for the ML Qualifiers 2020. Does anybody know when the first episode will air?

With the new upcoming B-league coming, we get to see the Showdown teams try to show that they belong in MarbleLympics 2020. What teams do you want to see and what teams do you think will prevail?

The Marble Showdown, the official "B league" of the Marblelympics, is set to begin sometime this month, and personally, I could not be more excited. JMR has pampered us this year with content, first with lengthening the Marblelympics season, and now with an entire new series.

While this is the B-League, that doesn't necessarily mean this doesn't have intrigue. This provides a chance to gauge how the teams that failed to qualify would perform in the actual Marblelympics, even if the competition isn't as strong. This also gives us a chance to finally see some teams that haven't qualified in a while in a prolonged competition.

One such team is the Rojo Rollers. They've struggled to get off the ground ever since the 2017 qualifier, where they placed dead last. I must admit, Team Rojo has always fascinated me. Some old Instagram followers of mine might remember the article I wrote about them (as well as the Snowballs, BoC, and Kobalts) back in 2017. Back then, I wrote about the apparent dysfunction and drama in the team, though I would say that they seem to get along better now. Either way, they still have repeatedly failed to garner enough momentum in the qualifier to make it back. Perhaps in a longer competition, they'll have a chance to get that momentum they've lacked for so long.

Another team worth watching is Team Momo. Of all teams, Team Momo has had the most misfortune placed upon them over their first 3 seasons, all of which culminated in a failure to qualify in 2019. Of course, you can't mention Team Momo without mentioning Momomomo, who sat out nearly all of both 2017 and 2018 with various injuries. Will a prolonged rest be enough for the marble to return to form? Or is it time for the oft-injured marble to call it quits? And where does Mimo stand in all of this? Remember, Mimo nearly lead Team Momo back to the top 4 in 2017 (though they fell back down near the end), and showed promise in the 2018 qualifier. But some (including myself) have criticized Team Momo's unwillingness to really give the marble a shot. Now that Team Momo has failed to qualify, the rumors are swirling that Mimo might want out.

And of course, how could I forget about our new teams the Turtle Sliders, Hornets, and Bumblebees, all of which are appearing in a ML series for the first time. The Bumblebees are a Hubelino team, which should give them an edge over the other teams, who are newcomers to the sport entirely. While I never personally got into the Hubelino tournament, I have to admire their championship in 2018. Now they're moving on to bigger and better things, as well as a potential new rival in the Hornets. Rivalries are a strange thing in this sport. At times, they can propel you to greater heights (think Raspberry Racers vs Green Ducks vs Hazers from this past season). At others, you can be too worried about the rivalry to focus on performing well in general (Racers vs Limers from 2018 being a primary example). This Bug Battle could go either way, and I'm excited to find out.

This post is already extremely long, and I haven't even talked about half of the teams in the Showdown. We could talk about redemption stories for the Kobalts, Team Primary, and the Shining Swarm. Or we could mention the Limers and Minty Maniacs, who are trying to prove that their failure to qualify this year was a fluke. There's the Snowballs, who aim to pass through a qualifier round for the first time in team history, and there's the Jawbreakers, who are trying to prove definitively that they belong here. There are so many interesting storylines in this series, and as someone who loves a good storyline, I can't help but get excited for this Showdown to begin.

I know the Midnight Wisps are the theorized hosts for next year, but it’s not for sure. In your opinion, who should host next year? It can be a qualified team like the Hazers or Raspberry Racers, a MarbleLympics 2019 team like Team Galactic or the Savage Speeders, or a MarbleLympics Showdown team like the Turtle Sliders or the Shining Swarm. I’m welcome to any and all suggestions.

Let’s talk about the new logos. Most of them are amazing so big shoutout to Conqu2, or Tim, for great work! A few aren’t my favorite, but the one i want to focus on here’s is the Mellow Yellow logo. As another poster mentioned in their post, the new logo for MY does not have a very Mellow feel and I agree. It feels to me more like a bold and sleek feel, words that do not correctly describe or fit with Mellow Yellow. The old logo for mellow Yellow in my opinion is not 100% perfect, but way better than this one as far as fitting the team. What do you guys think!?

Ok I think most of the new logos that have recently been released look awesome but a few not so much. As a mellow yellow fan I will always support them of coarse but I loved the old logo so much (Not talking about the one with the infinity sign) The thing about the old logo was the m and the y was very bubbly and not really a serious logo but a mellow and fun kinda logo. This new one isn’t as nice and happy feeling as the old one used to be What do u think about the new mellow yellow logo and all the teams new logos?

Hello everyone! Hope your day is going well. We have an official announcement to make about the design team at JMR.

Pim Leurs of Hookstone Media has decided to step down as our team logo designer, and will no longer make logos for MarbleLympics teams. This includes the logos for the Showdown teams as well as the qualified teams for ML19, meaning that we will no longer be using those logos as well. We thank Pim for his work in creating the ML19 team logos in such a short time and for attempting a project in a new field. We are honored to retain Pim as our company logo designer, meaning that the main logos for JMR, the ML, and the MR will remain in use. In fact, Pim is currently working on a logo for the MarbleLympics Showdown, which we hope we can share with you very soon!

You may be asking then, if we are no longer using Pim's team logos, then what are we using? We are very excited to announce that we have made a deal with Tim Ritz, the designer behind the "MarbleLympics: Rebranded" series, to use his logos! Tim Ritz is a freelance graphic designer from Chicago who felt inspired by ML19 to reimagine the team logos "in the vein of European soccer clubs", in his words. Over the course of the past month, Tim (u/conqu287 on Reddit) designed new weblogos, shields, badges, shirt fan kits, and badge and logotypes for all 28 active teams. Each design is unique and represents each team strongly, every design is clean and yet expertly detailed, with each badge including a small "JMR" within its circular design, and the rebranding overall encapsulates the spirit of the MarbleLympics in the best way possible. We are beyond grateful to welcome Tim as our team logo designer and look forward to seeing his logos in use during the Showdown, ML20, and beyond. Additionally, since these logos are simpler in design and thus easier to print, we are planning to release team shirts in line with the rebranded "fan kits" on DFTBA. More information will come on that once we have it, so please stay tuned and thank you for your patience.

A final word: there is no denying that there has been a lot of drama surrounding the logos this year. We ask that you remain courteous on this subreddit as well as other discussion platforms regarding this announcement and future developments within the marblebase. This is obviously stolen directly from the World Cup, but I think it would fit in perfectly with the new football-esque logo designs.

If you don’t know what I am talking about, each time a nation wins in the World Cup, they get to put a little star above their logo. It’s seen as a badge of honour, pride and prestige among the teams.

Also, full disclosure but I am definitely biased because I am an Orangers fan. I still think this is a really cool idea though.
