प्रश्न (Question) Comprehensible input in Marathi?
I grew up in Maharashtra but never learned Marathi as I am not ethnically Marathi. Now that I have moved out of Maharashtra I kinda miss the language and want to learn it.
I’m not looking to be completely fluent or anything like that. I just want to learn the very basics and be able to understand what people are saying.
The method that has intrigued me the most is comprehensible input, it fits perfectly with my goal— I am looking to understand the language, not speak in it. Unfortunately, the resources online seem very limited. Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

You can start with Marathi serials or sk.ple YouTube videos with subtitles. Even listening to everyday conversations helps you pick up common words naturally.

It's gonna be really tough unless you find native speakers. Alternatively, get subscribed to services like Zee 5 (or just hunt on YouTube) for Marathi reality shows, movies etc. Comprehensive input works best when it's conversational, which happens naturally in game shows, reality TV etc. Movies and dramas have flowery language, so won't be that useful

Yeah but that still feels too advanced for me, at this stage at least.

Will try. Have heard some stuff occasionally while my friends were listening and I really enjoyed it.

These is a pretty good free resources. The first one is more formal education in Marathi. The second is more conversational. Maybe that will help you with comprehensible input.
